Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2025
Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Spoke collects, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. During practice sessions, we record your audio to transcribe and analyze your speech. We also collect usage data such as session history, session scores, metrics, and streak information to power your progress tracking and in-app features.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: (a) provide and improve the Spoke service; (b) generate personalized speech analysis and feedback; (c) track your progress over time; (d) manage your account and subscription; and (e) send important service-related communications. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
3. Audio Recordings
Audio recorded during your sessions is sent to our speech recognition service for transcription and analysis. Recordings are processed to extract metrics such as filler word counts, speaking pace, and vocabulary diversity. Processed audio data may be retained to generate historical session results accessible in-app. You can delete all your data at any time by deleting your account.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your account data and session history are stored securely using Supabase, a trusted backend platform. We use industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no system is completely immune to security risks.
5. Third-Party Services
Spoke integrates with the following third-party services: Supabase — for secure data storage and authentication; Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In — for optional social authentication; RevenueCat — for subscription management and in-app purchase validation; Apple Speech Recognition — for on-device or cloud speech transcription. Each third party has its own privacy policy governing the data they process.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data and session history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including your profile, session history, and achievements — is permanently deleted from our systems. This action cannot be undone.
7. Children's Privacy
Spoke is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can update your profile information within the app. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Profile screen under Settings. For other requests, contact us at the email below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Spoke after changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
